Historic Photos and Documents


Visit the Library historical rooms and see our collection of historical photos and documents that we share with the Wilton Historical Society.  Although it is a good collection, we are always looking to add to our database. If you have old photos/documents of Wilton and would be willing share them, please contact the Commission at [email protected]. It is a great way to record Wilton’s history for everyone to enjoy.

Fire investigation report1859 Meeting House Fire Committee Report

A seven-page report about the investigations into the fire that destroyed the Meeting House on Dec. 18, 1859.  The fire began after the end of a musical performance that took place that night - the original program is below.

Photo exhibitOur ongoing display of historical photos continues at the entrance to the Town Hall Office.  Please stop by and view these fascinating glimpses of our Town’s past.  This installation is maintained by the Heritage Commission in partnership with the Wilton Historical Society, and will change every few months.

There is Wilton History Time Line on the town website. It currently covers from the early 1700’s to  1930, and we will be continuing to update it as time allows. You can also view an online collection of Wilton historical photographs HERE.
