Please Stop and Think:
Due to cross contamination, NO fibers (newspaper or cardboard) or other materials and items should be exchanged between persons or taken from this area at this time.
Remember to respect the barriers for our safe areas.
We are trying very hard not only to stay as status quo, but to protect ourselves and you at this very challenging time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Please slow down – children frequent this area as well as constantly moving vehicles.

Remember, fees apply to items that are placed into the landfill containers except kitty litter.
Please sort your recyclables, especially plastics, at home.
Household trash, including food waste, needs to be placed through the trash window, not in the landfill containers. It seems that people think we are still incinerating waste, which is not the case. The incinerator was dismantled in 2009 at which time this center started transferring all the waste off the premises.
Keep in mind to recycle. We would rather not have to check bags before they are deposited in the trash window.
For fee based items, including the scale fees, if possible use a check. We prefer not to handle cash at this time
Brush must be 5” in diameter or less per Solid Waste Regulations.
Household Hazardous Waste Day is planned for Saturday June 27th from 8 am to 12 pm. More information to follow shortly.
We have several ongoing request for our protection and yours:
Please properly sort your plastics. Remember #1’s are clear or see-through and bottles only;
#2’s are solid color jugs, containers and bottles.
Milk jugs that are translucent are separate and are deposited through the window by the trash window.
The less we handle the plastics to retrieve contaminates out of the bags, the safer we and you will be in that area.
Please sort all recyclables at home so less time is spent around other people.
Please read the signs in the glass area.
Please push your trash bags off the table, but in doing so, look down first to make sure the skid steer is not at the window. There is no door on that machine, therefore without caution the trash bag lands in Bruce’s face.
Keep a distance as much as possible and please do not socialize, as we are trying to facilitate keeping everyone moving along to avoid congested areas.
If at all possible pay by check so the handling of money is kept to a minimum. Don’t forget to have your phone number on the check.

We are doing all we can to provide service to you under these circumstances while keeping ourselves and you as safe as possible. We appreciate your consideration and cooperation in these challenging times. We are always open to suggestions. Have questions?? Just ask. We are happy to assist you.

 About the facility

The Wilton Recycling Center and Transfer Station requires a sticker to gain access to the facility. Stickers are free of charge and may be picked up at the Recycling Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will need your vehicle registration or proof of residency in a member town to receive your sticker. Up to two stickers per household will be permitted.

Location

The Wilton Recycling Center is located on Rt 101, 1 mile west of the railroad tracks at the Irving Station, on the right hand side.

The Center is open to residents of the towns of Greenville, Lyndeborough, Mason, Temple and Wilton. Residents are responsible for bringing their own items to the center, however, commercial haulers are available to hire.

Check the links to the right of this page for greater details.

We can now (Apr 2019) accept rechargeable batteries for recycling!

rechargeable batteries

Even better, we can recycle them for free. Battery recycling has been a loss for the recycle center, costing us for storage, shipment, and recycling! Packing for shipment will be done by volunteers in Wilton, and shipment will be paid for by the recycler, call2recycle.org. We're excited about this program and look forward to expanding it.
