WILTON HERITAGE COMMISSION MINUTES FOR MAY 27, 2014

Several Commission members met at 6 p.m. in the meeting room in order to discuss the map text.

The meeting was then called to order at 7 p.m. on May 27, 2014 at the Wilton Public and Gregg Free Library.  Present were Stanley Young, David Potter, and Nancy Clark.  Steven Lewers of Steven Lewers & Associates of Wilton was also there.  He is going to publish the Tour of Historic Wilton Brochure.

The April minutes were read and accepted.  The Treasurer had nothing to report.

Commission members and Mr. Lewers discussed the brochure.  We will have to have a final version of the brochure – text, photos, cover design, and map – to turn in to Mr. Lewers by the first of July in order to have the finished product ready in time to introduce at Old Home Days in August.

The Heritage Commission/Historical Society are thinking of making the historic rooms open and available to visitors on Saturdays during the library’s hours.

The Conservation Commission may have an information area set up in the historic rooms which will be open to the public during Old Home Days.  We plan to share another information area with the CC out on the Flats during Old Home Days.

David had information about a supplemental microphone that can be connected to the video camera to improve the quality of the sound during oral history interviews.

The meeting was adjourned at 8 p.m.
